Your Quilt Stories
As a part of our summer exhibition we are inviting YOU to share YOUR quilt stories.
Llanidloes and its people are full of creativity and history. If you have a quilt with an interesting story to tell or a quilt that you feel deserves a bit of limelight we'd love to hear from you.
Selected quilts will be exhibited as part of our latest exhibition, Kaleidoscope, along with their stories of the people and places they were made.
We are interested in quilts from any time period - modern day to antique. So if you have something made recently without a lot of long history, please don’t shy away we still want to see your quilt!

A riot of colour!
Upcoming exhibition - Kaleidoscope! Caleidosgop!
4th July - 31st August, 10.30 - 16.30
Wednesdays to Saturdays (and Bank Holidays) | FREE ENTRY
This summer we'll be showing the brightest and most colourful quilts in our antique and heritage collection. Our flagship exhibition focuses on colour, light and perception along with structural, geometric and abstract patterns.
With quilts dating from the early 19th Century to today, this exhibition will share the stories of some of our most vibrant quilts.
We are working on a permanent exhibition, so come and learn how quilts are made. There will be activities for children so you can make it a day out in the pretty town of Llanidloes.

Pop up shop
We're on the hunt for makers to join our pop up shop over the 8 weeks of our exhibition
Our flagship exhibition in 2026 is 'Caleidosgop! | Kaleidoscope' and focuses on colour, light, perception with structural, geometric and abstract patterns. It runs from 4th July to 31st August and is open Wednesday - Saturday, and Bank Holidays.
Each year we welcome around 2000 local, national and international visitors to explore our exhibition and shop.
We are looking for artists and makers from the Mid Wales area to sell contemporary creative and craft items. Items that reference our theme are particularly welcome, as are textile focused items.

Raise the Roof
Help us secure the future of Minerva Arts Centre and our heritage quilt collection
In October 2025, we discovered a serious leak from our adjoining flat roof down the interior wall of our main gallery. We called on public support for funding to support covering the cost to fix the leak and held several fundraising events.
Over the last 6 months we have been overwhelmed by the support of our members and supporters, and through our fundraising efforts have raised a total of £10,600 including a donation of £2000 from the Davies Sisters Charity.
