Summer Stitch - It Sessions!

This summer, we're celebrating Kaleidoscopes with our exhibition of antique and heritage quilts! In this session, we'll be focusing on using the technique of Appliqué to create handmade, personalised wall hanging. Appliqué is a traditional sewing technique in which shapes, patterns, letters, or motifs are cut from fabric and stitched onto a background fabric to create decorative designs.

Whether you choose to create a bold geometric pattern inspired by kaleidoscopes, spell out a name or favourite word or design something completely personal, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to express your creativity. Using a variety of colourful fabrics, you'll design and make your own unique wall hanging to take home.

Suitable for beginners and those with some sewing experience, this relaxed and friendly session will provide guidance and inspiration throughout, helping you develop new textile skills while creating beautiful handmade artwork.
