Ancient Stones and Landmarks

An exciting mixed media workshop where ancient stones such as standing stones and monuments, or hillforts will be used as our inspiration. Beginning with monoprints on tissue and fabric we will add to these with hot wax as a resist (batik) inks and stitch. You may prefer to add stitch at a later date and concentrate on using the other techniques over the two days. Most materials provided, just bring an apron, hairdryer, gloves, images for inspiration, if you have interesting paper as a backing for your work such as Khadi paper or watercolour paper and white or light cotton fabric this can be pre used or vintage, two pieces up to A3 in size, a sewing machine suitable for free machine embroidery, scissors and dark & light sewing threads.
