An August array of quilts: Minerva 16

10 August 2016

The antique quilts this year are from Barbara Chainey's collection.

They include some stunning pieces such as this pink and white strippy (left) and a folded log cabin (right).

Chair of The Quilt Association, Jean Pegg, welcomed everyone to the exhibition preview.

She thanked the team of dedicated volunteers who had worked so hard to hang this stunning exhibition.

We are pleased to welcome visitors of all ages to the exhibition!

Barbara's extensive collection features quilts from the UK and the USA.

Moving on from the antique exhibition, visitors are intrigued by the detailed embroideries of local textile artist Pauline Meads.

And in Gallery 2 we have the exhibition Sentinels by members of Anglia Textile Works.

You can never have too many photographs of your favourite pieces! (This time a swan by Pauline Meads)

Members of Anglia Textile works produced pieces especially for the tall hanging space of Gallery 2 at the Minerva Arts Centre.

This is the first year our new workshop has been incorporated into the summer show. We think it works really well!

The summer exhibition is open daily 10.30am - 4.30pm, except Sundays, until Saturday 3 September. We hope to see you here!
