World - yes, Textile - loads, Day - brilliant again!
18 April 2013
Local Quilt Association member Maureen Morris, who volunteers on our management committee, wrote about the day:
"Another brilliant day at The Minerva Arts Centre. World Textile Day certainly lived up to its reputation this year.
The buzz was really great as people rubbed shoulders to get access to the stalls and enjoyed the friendly banter.
Colourful fabric by the meter from India and Africa, beads and buttons, baskets and blankets filled the halls. Ethnic clothing made from wonderful natural fibres was, again, irresistible.
The lectures in the back gallery attracted a crowd and were informative and lively, and as usual the tea and cakes were delicious."
All at The Quilt Association were thrilled with the day, and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
