Artisans' Emporium 2014

3 May 2014 - 26 May 2014

L to R: Shirley Kinsley, Julie Preece, Maureen Morris, Angela Morris, the Artisans' Emporium group

Yes - this popular group are back with yet more textile images and crafts.

The Artisans' Emporium is a group of friends who came together as quilters and discovered that between them they had developed a range of skills and expertise in other areas.

Julie Preece makes Teddy Bears and dolls for "grown ups". These are not just toys but wonderful works of art with characters of their own.

Angela Morris has lived in Africa for many years and the colour and vibrancy of that country is reflected in her wallhangings and quilts.

Shirley Kinsley has a natural flair for colour as well as being an expert needlewoman and felt maker. Look out for her hats.

Maureen Morris hand dyes fabric to use as backgrounds in textile hangings and quilts. She also makes hand knits.

Together the friends formed the Artisans' Emporium as a showcase for their work and the work of other artists.

You can see some images from last year's exhibition here.

Gallery 2 will feature work by CRYD - a group of professional artists who come together for collaborative exhibitions. They each live within the boundaries of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Mawddach Rivers - hence the name CRYD being the initials of Celf Rhwng Y Dyffroedd, or Art Between the Waters.
